The Sierra Silent Soarers is a social organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying radio controlled
gliders and electric aircraft. S3 has been an AMA chartered club for over two decades, and has members
of all ages, abilities and walks of life, with the common interest of building and flying RC sailplanes,
gliders and electric planes. Membership is open to the general public and visitors are always welcomed.

Meetings are at the flying field from March to October at the scheduled contest.
November, December and March meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm.
There are no meetings for the months of January and February.
NOTE: the Round Table Pizza on Mira Loma and McCarran in Reno has closed. We are looking for a new meeting place.

Monthly contests are held from March to October on the third Sunday of the month. Contests are held
in Washoe Valley or Laura Springs in Gardnerville starting at 9:30 am. The club has three electric winches
with 900 foot lines and retrievers. Beginners and spectators are always welcomed.
